Pros

Loved doing the research. Flex hours were great. Worked from home 4/5 days a week.

Cons

Poor training. Absolutely no one-to-one training. Outdated training materials. Trainers where impatient and had favorites. We were expected to know the job and meet unrealistic deadlines daily. Don't be fooled by the 7 month in class training. Poorly put together. Grossly micro-managed. No teamwork. No chit-chat with coworker. Set up for failure from the start if not one of the chosen few.

Pros

Decent salary for a civil servant if you're grade 11 and above. More work from home ability due to the pandemic, but only in select depts.

Cons

Cronyism, favoritism, fraud, waste, and abuse. Intimidation, harassment, bullying, targeting, and retaliation if you try to defend yourself. Over 90% of the time you only get promoted through subjective measures and if mgmt/director likes you. You have to be a "yes man" and do as you're told no matter what. HR is a joke and any investigation done by them due to the aforementioned is swept under the rug, even with proof; this includes sexual harassment. Your only option is to hire an attorney if you have the resources.
