Pros

- flexible PTO - maternity leave for mothers, fathers are expected to get back to work

Cons

- it can be really bad if you don't have a good manager helping you. - i have had sick leave denied and I was expected to show up to the field office sick on MULTIPLE occasions - only the managers favorites get promoted, if you're just good at your job you won't be taken seriously - I have seen illegal things done by managers to keep their employees "in line" on multiple occasions - they say there is a union that would help you, but honestly the AFGE is pretty weak in this agency, they can't do much other than take your dues.

Pros

Friendly colleagues, federal benefits, assisting the public with navigating a complex system

Cons

Severely understaffed, massive workload expectations, minimal mentorship/training after entry-level training, difficult to get noticed for hard work
