Pros

abundant overtime, fairly stable employment - no layoffs since the start of my employment. Ability to accrue credit time and use flex time. Telework is currently available

Cons

limited promotion potential, threat of furlough, step increases amount to little increase in pay, COLA increases do not keep up with the increase in the cost of living

Pros

Helping people and flexibility. Overtime options are good too. There is always work to be done.

Cons

Management, training, and management. Work culture is terrible. Lots of ghetto employees.

Pros

You don't deal with the public directly. Benefits are great. Pay is alright. You work completely independently once you are off review. No micromanagement. Currently working 4 days from home, not sure if it will remain that way. Great opportunity to move upwards.

Cons

There are 2 phases of training. The 1st phase is a 9 month class. The second phase is a mentoring period which can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months. It is an extremely technical job. Very difficult to learn in the amount of time provided. You will either get it or you won't. The failure rate is over 60%.
