Pros

More secure and stable than private sector. Unless you commit a criminal action, you won't have to worry about being fired. They don't have to promote you, but they won't fire you.

Cons

Lack of competition like private sector creates a work ethos of where major mistakes are tolerated. Inadequate training. Substandard in quality employees. Individual workload mindset; little tolerance for team collaberation.
