Pros

Being able to serve faculty and staff really gives you the chance to get to know people on a deeper level. So they become a person of worth instead of just a number or just a student. I also loved helping with food preparation. That was really fun.

Cons

There was a lot of unprofessionalism taking place there, and there was constant manual labor that was imposed on some, but not all. Slacking and discrimination on any case is unprofessional to me.

Hi there- Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. While it appears you're no longer with the company, I did want to respond with some info that may be helpful to current employees or candidates reading this. If there is ever suspected discrimination of any kind, there's an entire team (not just one) of HR people, as well as the Sodexo Office of Employment Rights, who can guide you. This should not be happening, and I'm sorry to hear about what you've described here.

Pros

-Work life balance for the most part can be pretty good, depending on the account you're at. -Pay is very competitive. -Great benefits: 401k, full health coverage insurance, vacation, paid sick time.

Cons

-To grow within the company, relocation most of the time is expected. -Some managers are better than others, depending on your account.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as it can greatly benefit other Chefs considering Sodexo. Due to the nature of contract services, advancement may be more readily available by relocating - even to a different account in the same area. Some accounts offer more services than other and have different sized teams, but we do always try to work with our employees to find growth within. Thank you again!
