Pros

- Pay is more the average for similar positions. - Management at times can be helpful and understanding.

Cons

- There is heavy favoritism amongst units. - Not so easy to move up in the company. - Constantly working outside of your job description. - Micro-managing is huge in this company. - Management doesn’t always solve issues. - Management aren’t always accommodating of personal issues and will tell you “business comes first” and will threaten to write you for everything and anything.

Pros

1. Good benefits / perks • Many reviews cite that Sodexo offers decent benefit packages. • Some mention free or subsidised meals/drinks while on shift. 2. Team spirit, coworker relationships • People often say the team is friendly, helpful. Having supportive colleagues comes up frequently. • Being able to work with people who care or trying to do good work (especially where you’re providing services that help others) gives satisfaction.

Cons

Poor management / leadership • Many reviews talk about weak/improper management: lack of support, inconsistent or unclear direction, favouritism. • Communication issues are commonly called out. 3. High workload / stress / understaffing • Several roles feel pressured by understaffing, needing to cover for many tasks, being asked to do more than your formal job description. • Stress from long hours, sometimes weekend work, especially in peak times (e.g. major events). 4. Limited advancement / promotion opportunities • Some say there’s “no real move up,” or few chances to progress, especially in certain roles. • Also mentions of delays in pay rises or promised promotions not happening. 5. Inconsistency between sites • Depending on the location, manager, contract, etc., the work environment, support, and even pay/benefits can vary a lot. Some sites are well-run, others feel chaotic. 6. Work-life balance can suffer • Even though there’s flexibility in some cases, in others people say they’re often asked to do overtime, cover shifts, or deal with changing hours. This leads to stress.
