Pros

- Not necessary work-related but most of the good memories you take from the company, they come from the people you get to meet there; The company itself promotes this as "great work environment" - The company covers all certifications courses / exams (as long as you get the certification) you take while you work there, you are required to stay in the company at least 3 months after getting the certification though. - As fresh college grad, you will have the opportunity to wok as a contractor for international companies (GE, HP, Walmart, etc.) and learn how they operate (metrics, best practices, management, etc.) - The company includes the "mobility" policy, meaning that if you think your current project is not a good fit for you or in case the project is cancelled / completed, you don't have to leave the company as they will try to find you another project without any impact on your paycheck (Full time position).

Cons

- No Social security or any of the benefits required by mexican laws are provided by the company (private medical insurance and discounts at local businesses only) as you are not actually an employee, just an associate. -Good skills and hard work does not always lead you to a promotion. - The company does not really expect people to last more than a few years in there so, once you get an offer from another company, even if you are by now considered a proficient / senior, they would not try to retain you and also, in most cases, they will end up hiring a fresh college to fill the position and save money at the same time. - Work equipment is often obsolete and there are many network restrictions. - People with high salary becomes a "threat" to the project's revenue so, unless they are absolutely needed at the time, operational leaders will always try to get rid of them by playing the "mobility" card.

Pros

The money is good, when you sell yourself good when you are hired. You have opportunities to work in several countries where Softtek has presence

Cons

Salary increase does not occur often and it's really hard to get one. Softtek does not pay too much attention to their employees as *people* and their personal needs and interests.

Pros

You learn a lot there.

Cons

Being a contractor, you need to stick to outdated policies implemented by the clients. The terms of your work situation are not discussed with you, you have no saying on hours you'll like to work or even if you prefer to work from home, mostly because they will try to comply with every whim the client wants as long they keep a project. They will charge the client a lot for you and only pay you a very little percentage of that.
