Pros

It is rare to be able to work for an employer who provides an accessible & money saving product to consumers, an innovative and inspiring investment on the stock exchange, and a growing provider of employment to US citizens. Most importantly, I'm able to consult and sell a product that is clean and green.

Cons

I have no complaints. They have invested in my talents (from the beginning) in a way that has never previously been afforded to me in my 20 years as an employee and independent contractor.

Pros

I cannot speak for working at the headquarters, which by the way seems to be their priority focus for employees although the Sales Team is where they grow their business - you would think. The Benefits are top notch.

Cons

I worked in their Field Energy Advisor roll (which morphed into a Field Energy Specialist roll months later. This is the single worse job i have ever had the misfortune of being a part of. There was absolutely no support, a lot of negative bashing from management, made to belittle you when you didn't work 7 days a week or were (like everyone else on the team), struggling to hit quota. It gets to the point where you physically and mentally were exhausted and the management didn't seem to care or offer any suggestions other than to suck it up, or move on. There was so many reasons to dislike this roll, but it was what it was. You work at a Home Depot qualifying leads, but the vast majority of the people you came in contact with either were verbally disgusted with you asking them if they would like to talk about solar. Their disdain was in their actions, their voices and the looks they gave you. The weekly verbal assault you endured takes a toll, and its worse when you have meetings and you get the same disdain from your management.

Thank you for the honest feedback. We are sorry to hear that the sales role was not a good fit. We have over 50 locations within the US, and are always striving to create the same positive culture and energy at each location. We strongly believe every employee at SolarCity should be able to share their concerns and opinions in a supportive, constructive environment, and will take your feedback to the sales department to bring awareness to this opportunity for improvement.
