Pros

The compensation and benefits are top notch. The company, and the leadership, cares about what they do. It's not just about making a quick profit and moving on, they want to build a lasting company that can change how the world thinks of energy. Not only that, but they care about their customers. I have never seen a sales organization that tried so hard to find the right solution for the client, not to make the sale.

Cons

The only con of working for SolarCity is the stress and frustration of dealing with misinformed customers. There are a lot of misconceptions about solar that you have to work through. It gets worse when other companies feed on that, and tell people what they think they already know, even if it is bad for the customer. This can result in lost sales, which not only affects your commissions, it is upsetting for your customers to be manipulated into something that will hurt them in the long run.

Pros

The work is interesting, stimulating and good for the planet. I am well-compensated but earn it all

Cons

A year ago, the company was so new, everything seemed experimental. Everything was subject to change, and did, but the company has been maturing and learning. The rapid growth has added some chaos and delays in scheduling, but it is all improving.

Pros

The pay was generous and the product is good as customer doesn't have to pay money upfront for solar. Its instant savings and your loyal customers become your salesmen. You manage your hours. You're kind of your own boss. Medical benefits

Cons

Never heard from my manager. My recruiter tried taking my entire first month of commission. The commission was generous and have been getting paid less for my work. I was recently put on termination status without notice. I finally found out my manager has been on termination status and a bunch of reps were put in termination status.
