Pros

I've worked for some awful companies and a few great ones. SolarCity is definitely part of the latter. At least at the local level, our office is laid back yet always on the ball. Employee morale is good and management takes the time to listen. Great incentives, bonuses, stocks, benefits, and opportunity for growth. I'm glad I joined.

Cons

There are always a few bad apples, but management is good at placing you with people on the same page. My only complaint was as an installer very few of the guys ever took breaks, and I found myself having to defend myself during lunch. We are on a roof all day, carrying 60lb solar panels. Sitting down for five minutes shouldn't be a problem, but some guys look down on stopping and eating. Everyone wants to get the job done quickly and nobody wants to clock out for lunch - which is technically illegal - but it's a new company and they probably haven't faced that legal battle yet. I think you can work quickly and still have time tor your biological needs. Also, hours can be really long.

Pros

There are so many positives about SC!! I have been with the company for 5 years and all I can say is how blessed i feel to be a part of such an amazing team. I can say that this company from the top down (or should it I say from the bottom up) share the same vision. We truly are teammates! From the sales side over to the install and management side of the business we all seem to work side by side with one unified mission. I love our company values, there are many but the ones that best describe how it is to work here are "We are teammates" and "We act with integrity and honesty" (I say this with knowledge that every company has it's share of knuckleheads) Look forward to another 5 years minimum.

Cons

As with all companies, we cant be perfect. but I can say that being with the company for 5 years and having seen us hit 1000 employee's all the way to 10,000 not to long ago. And seeing us go from 10,000 customers to over 180,000....in less than 5 years. Growing pains!! but that is to be expected when you are drawing the blue prints for something that has never been done before in the history of the Solar industry. SolarCity is the Apple of it's day. it's like the beginning of the dot com era, when no one but the innovators who came up with the ideas shaped the industry. SolarCity is doing the same thing now.

Pros

Excellent Management, they go above and beyond for their employees to help them succeed. The pay is competitive and there is a very high potential if you put the work into it. The goals are realistic, yet challenging to push you to constantly improve.

Cons

It is a difficult task convincing people that not all solar companies are the same business.
