Pros
I've worked for some awful companies and a few great ones. SolarCity is definitely part of the latter. At least at the local level, our office is laid back yet always on the ball. Employee morale is good and management takes the time to listen. Great incentives, bonuses, stocks, benefits, and opportunity for growth. I'm glad I joined.
Cons
There are always a few bad apples, but management is good at placing you with people on the same page. My only complaint was as an installer very few of the guys ever took breaks, and I found myself having to defend myself during lunch. We are on a roof all day, carrying 60lb solar panels. Sitting down for five minutes shouldn't be a problem, but some guys look down on stopping and eating. Everyone wants to get the job done quickly and nobody wants to clock out for lunch - which is technically illegal - but it's a new company and they probably haven't faced that legal battle yet. I think you can work quickly and still have time tor your biological needs. Also, hours can be really long.
