Pros

Decent Benefits including insurance and PTO, although that will probably change as they continue to cut costs.

Cons

Solera is a toxic company to work for, and will continue to be so as long as Vista Equity is the owner. They killed Omnitracs along with any other company Solera has bought out and they have no clue about the products they are acquiring. They do not prioritize the software or the clients that use it, and they certainly do not prioritize their employees. Mass layoffs without any warning are the norm here. All they care about is the bottom line, and in the long run that will hurt the product, employees, and company itself.

Vista Capital Meat Grinder

Pros

The checks clear on time, most of the time.

Cons

Solera is owned by Vista Capital, the 4th largest tech company in the world...and boy do you feel it working here. They have placed their hatchet men in all the key positions of power at Solera to hopefully sell something they overvalued. In the meantime, they are ruining the business units they've aquired and putting their workforce through the grinder. A few specifics for anyone trying to get an answer from the non-responsive "HR" department. Unlimited PTO, of course designed to limit actual PTO. Raises: small if any at all, and they are usually a couple months late. Jobs being shipped over seas: That's where 98% of the hiring is. New hire equipment: Can you make due with an old laptop with single monitor arrive after your start date? People are over worked and underpaid; and that ratio is only growing. I could go on, but you get the point. The only way you should take a job here is if Vista sells Solera, or if you make enough money to compensate your pain and suffering.
