Should do a better job of long term planning

Pros

Silicon manufacturing in general, while competitive is an expensive business, which makes it difficult for new entrants to significantly compete with incumbents. Which translates to some level of stability, though memory and storage market is cyclical, it's still somewhat a good long term business. Hopefully it IPOs soon.

Cons

Should do better long term planning, especially in terms of hiring. They seem to hire with no real plan or vision and then layoff hard working people through no fault of their own because of poor planning and strategic decisions and investments.

Pros

started at a high wage, then bonuses were taken from us. started with all my intel friends and peers from the last decade and then half of them left overnight due to layoffs. the rest were taken due to more layoffs. i survived then quit after the last round of layoffs as they gave me 20x the work with no promotion or bonus. again.

Cons

most staff is bitter about not working for intel and doubly bitter after half the staff was laid off. letting people go on bonding leave left a sour taste with me. my manager changed 5 times in two years. products are not as good as intels offerings. benefits are a joke. when i was on paid family leave, they didnt pay me for two entire months and fought me to get that payment. HR and finance are mice on a wheel and anything out of their norm is impossible to action. ceo was ineffective as a manager at intel and now as ceo hes driving the company into the ground fast. terrible outlook. id be surprised if they lasted another 5 years without being aqquired or sold yet again and just absorbed into the ether.
