Pros

Used to be a second family with open door policies. Everyone was treated with nicely and all opinions were respected. Although growth opportunities were limited, it was a wonderful place to work with a good work life balance. Everyone knew what the goals were and were empowered to achieve them.

Cons

Now this company (not just the Houston office) is run completely by the numbers. The goals are constantly changing and no one knows which path to take. All decisions are second guessed. Constant stressful strives now dominates the culture and while the word "innovation" is used, those that fail while innovating are terminated. You cannot challenge anything, even when told there is a "penalty free environment" There is a focus on the customer campaign, but in reality we were more focussed on the customer in the past....the focus in on the numbers only today. "Take smart Risks" is another focus that is a joke. If ANY risk fails, then it wasn't a smart risk...this attitude leads to taking NO risks and will lead to the downfall of the company. On the plus side there are more opportunities for advancement from all the people being fired and/or leaving.
