Great co-workers, pay is not bad

Cons

Sonic only cares about how much money you can make them, so the guys at the top can continue to maintain an expensive lifestyle. Health benefits are horrible. Be prepared to receive an email every holiday from corporate laced with their personal political views.

Big Company with a lot of support and guidance. Many dealerships of many different brands.

Cons

too many cookie cutter one size fits all approaches to business. This approach doesn't always work well especially in the San Francisco market with luxury dealerships.

Job security. As long as you're following this company's pedantic rules, not engaged in any illicit activity, and attending this company's regular and mandatory corporate training sessions, you're unlikely to be fired, regardless of performance. Yes, you're under contractual obligations to meet minimum sales requirements, but these are often overlooked because of the difficulty retaining employees.

Cons

Terrible pay plan, poor morale, too much corporate meddling. Corporate execs use a one-size-fits all approach for all 100+ dealerships across the U.S. and it's laughable, because what might work for selling pickup trucks in Oklahoma does not necessarily apply to selling luxury cars in Los Angeles.
