Not a real job

Pros

Relaxed environment, flexible schedule, good benefits.

Cons

This job seems like a good idea but it does not flow well with the sales process and the F&I managers refuse to work with me. The general manager does not seem to know what is going on and does not require the teamwork process to happen. I literally have NOTHING to do and cannot stand this job! In my interview, they talked about the last person who had this job and how they did not do anything. Now that I have "worked" here for six weeks, I can see why. I have done everything to ask for something to do and they refuse to let me do my job. I sit in an office most days with NOTHING to do. I do not know why I am here. Also, I do not have access to the systems I need in order to do my job correctly and well, I have asked several times for help but still have no resolution. It looks like they promote their best sales staff into management and finance positions. Being great at sales does not make you good at managing a store or a team. It does not mean you are great at finance either.

Pros

five word minimum required - no pros - BMW Brentwood

Cons

This has been the worst job experience of my career. To begin with the basics, the benefits are terrible, the pay is abysmal, and the PTO policy is almost non-existent. Now, for the more significant issues. The department manager lacks crucial skills in leadership, communication, and organization. He regularly (daily) speaks negatively about employees behind their backs, which has led to a toxic and uncomfortable work environment. Due to his poor communication, the entire department operates in disarray. Parts are frequently misplaced or missing, which has led to numerous customer complaints. Instead of addressing issues directly, the manager often mumbles things under his breath, leaving us unclear on what needs to be done. As a result, morale is at an all-time low, and many employees have chosen to leave. Over the course of his three-year tenure, 10 employees have left, largely due to his lack of leadership, competence, and empathy. What’s most frustrating is that every single parts employee has taken these concerns directly to the General Manager. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues, no action has been taken, which suggests that upper management is either unaware of or indifferent to the ongoing problems. In just the past week, two more employees quit, one of whom walked out in frustration. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It's crucial for the company to re-evaluate who they are placing in management positions and, more importantly, to listen when an entire department is raising the same concerns.
