Pros

Helps employees after natural disasters, tries to emulate a family environment, has a “playbook” for consistent operations across all franchises, business model is trying to prepare for future of industry, likes to train employees, has employee emergency fund,

Cons

Preaches Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI) Leads to Customer Satisfaction (CSI), but doesn’t follow through, Health Insurance isn’t great unless you are grandfathered into standard plan, Is spread thin, focusing on several different business plans without perfecting one and moving on, seems to treat Sonic employees great, but dealership employees worse. Teaches cultivation and growing, but will terminate quickly. Punishes dealership management if an employee quits or is terminated by docking payroll. Hiring is next to impossible, So concerned about ensuring dealerships are following playbook dealerships are more worried about process than actually taking care of customers.

Pros

I am SO fortunate to have the best.... bosses....ever! Charlie Napier, Matt Mockabee and Glenn Miller. Three guys who took a real shot at giving me the opportunity to come and work for them, even though I had never done anything like this, Their encouragement, patience and unlimited knowledge of the car industry are such gifts to have in my corner as the new rookie. Also, Ric Rohde, the Sonic Regional Training Director for the Mid South, is an excellent teacher and all around great guy! He presented us with lots of valuable information we all need to know in the sales forum, and made the training session a fun and positive experience. I am excited to be a part of the Sonic Automotive family, and I hope I can be a positive force for others in the company the way these awesome people are for me.

Cons

The potential work hours can be long, but I think as we bring on more awesome people, those schedules will modify themselves naturally. And, car buying does need to accommodate guest's shopping hours. So it is an adjustment.

Pros

Pay can be really good.

Cons

High stress, unreachable goals, constant fear of being fired, lazy management that does not in any way try to help you better yourself within the company. Just throws you into the fire and if you don't meet there goals throws you onto the street. VERY high employee turnover.
