Pros

Before you read please note that this is not a review from a disgruntled employee these are just facts of what SonicWALL has become instead of what it could have been promoting employee curiosity, motivating and helping employees advance technically. If you ask the last 30 or so senior techs who left in past 6 months they will agree to every single point stated here. • Freshers and people new into security domain can learn a lot provided they are ready to pave their own way and learn on their own. If you are a quick learner 6 months will be enough to learn the technology in and out after that all you'll be doing in rest for you SonicWALL Life is Port Forwarding • Only other reason for you to join here would be if you are in a desperate need for a job. • Your communication skill and customer handling skill will get tested to the max strech that will help you mould yourself • Best Pro fo All : If you survive 2 years here every other job will seem like a breeze and 5 start enviromment compared to what you'll go through here . so you will be able to adjust anywhere • Apart from this there is no Pro left. Whatever was there DELL made sure to get rid of it.

Cons

• Extremely high pressured brainless job with a pathetic pay, no allowances for night shifts etc. So make sure you negotiate to a high value before you join as there are no hikes anymore. Don't buy into HRs bull FAKE PROMISES, it's all smokes and mirrors. • You'll have to learn things on your own .There's no training on anything and any and all knowledgeable people who could have answered your questions have already left SonicWALL. They'll do a video conference for 2 hours and consider it as training done. You'll be mapped to all queues and are expected to give results with no help whatsoever. It'll be like going to war with guns but no bullets. • Post DELL acquisition SonicWALL doesn't support intelligent life forms anymore. Mules or dogs are needed here in India TAC. So if you are ambitious or a quick learner don't waste time coming here.Be patient, wait it out, study, weigh your options and find a good respectable job, there are millions out there better than this if you are good in what you do. • Only come here if you are in a desperate need of a job. • Wave good bye to your personal life if you can't do proper time management. • As mules you'll have no respect here no matter what level are you on whether you are a L1 tech L2 or L3 no matter how high your productivity is, no matter if you have been high performer for number of months • Getting leaves is as good as asking for a kidney from managers. • Post DELL acquisition they have successfully managed to turn a Technical Assistance Center ( the play ground for Troubleshooters , Networkers and Logical thinkers ) into a dumb BPO. • So the end result is after 4 years of engineering you'll end up in a BPO. • They force you to take back to back calls. Assign you loads of cases ( 50 cases is normal now a days ) and give you no time to work on assigned cases in your bin. And once you reach a certain proficiency level you'll be mapped to all call queues that are out there. • You are not allowed to any other mode than inbound. If in case you do get to another mode this is what you have to do in that : Update cases, respond back to customer's update, check with tech leads on cases which are stuck, post first contact on cases, close pending resolved cases and the list goes on. • The product itself sucks doesn't matter if it's UTM firewall or SSL VPN SRA. When troubleshooting on the device throw logic out the window as it won't apply here. • Most of the customer base for SonicWALL are mom and pop shops, no high end enterprise will go for a product this unstable at cost of monetary loss. Stands nowhere close to Ciscos, Check Points, Palo Altos which Enterprises normally prefer well SonicWALL Super Massive 10 may be an exception. • The only reason SonicWALL's business is profitable is because of the ability of DELL Sales to sell SonicWALLs like cupcakes. From an employee's perspective there's no benefit of that for you. For you the work environment is pretty much right down the crapper. • There's a chance that you may be more qualified than you managers who by the way are there just because they spent 10 years of their life in BPOs not because they are qualified (most of them are not even engineers ) so you'll find yourself in constant disagreement with their 90% of times stupid decisions, which will have no logical reason or no managerial process behind it. Dictatorship. • Which leads to this point : rules are created at their own whim out of thin air whenever they feel like it. There's absolutely no process followed for this. For ex. Female employees are not allowed to sit on desks , your shirt's upper button of the shirt should be buttoned at all times, you are not allowed to from or stand in groups to discuss an issue and get help and more crapped up rules which has nothing to do with making your work environment better and helping you increase your productivity and work proficiency. • Managers and team leads are childish. You can't put across a valid point to them or raise your concern without being worried about being dumped with extra load of work or some form one or the other way they'll find to make your life more miserable .CHEAP LOW GRADE BIASED MANAGEMENT. • Every step taken by management here ends up in discouraging and demoralizing the employees after 7 moths you'll ask yourself why are you even working here as there are absolutely no benefits that this place can offer that and more are not offered by other better stable companies. • Absolutely 0 retention policy no matter how good or talented you are. If you ask for more money for retention they'll just say " BEST OF LUCK FOR YOUR FUTURE" • If you survive 2 years here every other job will seem like a breeze and 5 start enviromment compared to what you'll go through here . so you will be able to adjust anywhere
