Discriminative company

Pros

When discrimination is reported, HR and management would start a highly manipulated process and shirk all duties to individual’s performance even though the discrimination and unlawful behaviors are clear enough. HRs and mannagement lacks the common sense of lawful behaviors and their own behaviors are in grey areas very often. Given these issues, Sonos is not a good company. The repeated injustices indicate systemic problems within the company that will likely prevent its long-term success. The issues are systemic throughout the company. The organization lacks a proper understanding of lawful operations and fails to meet the corporate responsibilities expected by society in practice. Intervention by legal institutions would be appropriate, though it is unlikely to happen.

Cons

Becoming one of “them” offers job security, since layoffs typically target employees who are not part of management’s favored group.

Pros

Overall hardware & software products are great - and the experience is good. Throughout the company there is a genuine deep love for music/ audio/ tech being seamless & immersive. Culture wise - most people are lovely. There is remote working and regional offsites to bring teams together. The company has active DEI groups and is proactively intentional when it comes to collaborating cross-functionally. As a tech company they are encouraging efficient in ways of working - utilising AI, and new tech stacks. The pro's do outweigh the cons.

Cons

Currently undervalues the true power of culture...Lacks long term vision and purpose - only short-term driven profit - limiting true growth Currently no clear company values = misguided intentions/ unclear expectations Misalignment on strategy vs expected deliverables vs actualities Lack of inspiring leaders/ managers - bad behaviours can go unchecked Lack of Leadership accountability - bad decisions cost jobs Lack of trust/ very lean budgets/ stagnant wages Limited career growth - no development courses for middle-managers Employees with long tenures and deep brand knowledge - undervalued Too much focus on making profit, without investing in building brand value Regular RIF's
