      Pros

      Products, benefits and corporate culture experience.

      Cons

      Favoritism, really heavy management layers, some of them 20,30,40 year vets! almost impossible to get a new idea heard unless you play ball and cozy up to leads/managers. yearly head cutting of most the lower level staff to get the numbers. most of the managers remained. Lack of product vision and arrogance baed on what Sony "used to be".

      Pros

      Good employee benefits. People are great. Cafeteria and gym on site.

      Cons

      Pay is not that great. Depending on the group, you can find yourself working very long hours. Promotions are not that easy to come by. Most things are led by Japan, and you need "permission" from them to do most things. Not much recognition to employees. Separation of companies.

      Pros

      I worked at Sony Electronic Asia Pacific in Singapore. It's a great working environment and i never forget the colleagues who help me thru my 8 years in Sony. They are unselfish and help me thru my years there. They shared their experience with me and i learn a great deal from them. I have supportive managers to are always ready to listen to me.

      Cons

      The only thing i can think of is the benefit and salary. It's lower than European and US companies. But I guess most of the japanese companies pay roughly the same.
