you can be stuck in a department of japanese ex pats with a different mentallity to the local country's vibe. the company overall is great, just sometimes it is possible to be stuck in a small group of people that lack management skills and are culturally very different. this may mean you are expected to do a lot of things, which if you don't, then this could reflect how well you progress or how well you climb the corporate ladder. this is irrespective of you KPI's which is what should be the real performance indicator and should be reviewed regularly.
