Pros

Sony is a company where every engineer has many opportunities to grow. I worked for Sony in the US for five years and ten years in Tokyo. Your passion and new ideas will be heard and respected by management. I was, fortunately, able to have opportunities to propose and create new product ideas, then derived the start-up project from prototyping product ideas from scratch to launch as a product to market.

Cons

There are many exciting projects and initiatives in the company, but the majority of them are led by Tokyo team. So if you are in the US, you may face challenges in getting involved in projects led remotely. Also, many engineers are located in Tokyo, which results in the working culture and communication style is very different from the US.

Pros

Very relaxed. Great honor to relate to the products which lead the world.

Cons

Japanese managers change often because they are expats.
