Sophos is not too bad

Pros

You get to work on interesting stuff (depending on the team ofcourse). Work / life balance is good. Benefits are quite good (stock options, free health insurance, free travel insruance, free accident and critical illness insurance, subsidised hot lunch, free snacks etc.)

Cons

Not great pay masters. Career progression is slow. Mediocre conservative non-technical mid level engineering managers who are set in their ways. Sophos never release half the stuff they produce, so your work may never see the light of day.

Pros

No micro-managing - they allow you to do your work your way, as long as you get it done well. Great benefits Lots of options for training - they provide online training and industry recognized certifications that you can take - all paid for.

Cons

Limited options for growth - while the company does allow you to grow, and encourages it, the options of what to do are a bit limited. And while you have a lot of options for training, not too much time is given to actually train.
