Pros

Cool tech (even though it’s still half baked), great health benefits.

Cons

The Ex-CEO essentially lied to employees and investors. The current CEO is there to cleanup the mess and recover as much of the investors money as possible even if it means screwing every employee over. Toxic culture that rewards incompetence and punishes good work. No focus on revenue and improving the business. Teams sat idle for months on end because of silly political and turf war battles. Solid contributors were thrown under the bus for the same reasons. Financial models were based on false information and blatant fabrications. The CFO was MIA for months and unchecked spending killed any hope of a profitable exit.

Company is dead. Leadership is out of touch.

Pros

Company provided great benefits, 100% insurance, lunch daily, unlimited PTO.

Cons

The company took an abrupt nose dive, products didn’t meet expectations, and no investor would touch the company. Management handled lay offs in absolute worst possible way. Threatened employees for talking about what was coming and laid majority of people off with no warning and very little severance. While they claimed they would help employees find new jobs, when asked for references current employees said the company has declined them privilege to do so. The company is in complete disarray and has no capital to continue or strong product to turn things around.

Pros

Unlimited PTO is nice, as long as they let you use it.

Cons

Lots of turbulence. There was a huge hiring boom last year, which ballooned operating costs. The CEO was replaced recently with the expectation of stabilizing finances. But the company has failed to drive revenue, failed to court investors, and is now slashing their workforce across the board to stem the bleeding. There's an expectation that people will work at a *bare minimum* 45-50 hours a week, and challenging that is met with contempt. The corporate culture is dysfunctional in the extreme. Avoiding and assigning blame is more important than getting the work done. There are pervasive communication issues at every level of the organization. There's very little top-down direction, so way too much productivity is lost into redundant or inconsequential work. Deadlines are missed regularly. The business is struggling to measure success at the most basic level because so many shortcuts were taken to rush to market that essential monitoring and data infrastructure mechanisms simply don't exist. They're drowning in a sea of technical debt.
