Pros

Friendly, family atmosphere. Everyone cares about each other's success. Great place for work-life balance. Great culture and values (Faith-based organization). Good 401(k) match and benefits.

Cons

Corporate headquarters is in a smaller community. The pay is at or below market for positions in other companies in the same industry. But the work-life balance, good benefits, and work-environment are a fair trade-off.

Pros

Opportunity to learn A-Z of the industry and had a lot of freedom to explore new opportunities or angles for the subsidiary

Cons

Short-term sighted, lack of discipline on hostile employees, pay not adjusted properly for increased responsibility, no real long-term opportunity

Pros

The Houston-area branches afford a pleasant working environment and friendly colleagues. The pay is competitive.

Cons

The corporate office has absolutely no interest in the individual needs of satellite branches, which makes daily operation excessively complicated. All locations are expected to conform to the rigid established standard, even at the expense of client relationships. Branch office staff are expected to manage operations at every level. Because back office staff have minimal, if any, customer contact and no knowledge outside their own specific department, they are largely unhelpful and obtuse. Training is minimal and performance expectations are high.
