Pros

I really enjoy this job. I work in Coppell, Texas, and the job is ridiculously slow. We spend a lot of the day reading the news on CNN because we have nothing to do. But it is a good, tight-knit community.

Cons

It's too slow. You are expected to do things that are not technically you're job.

Great Bank Culture

Pros

It really keeps the local feel. Employees are treated well. Pay is not great, but they always promote from within, if you are willing to stick around. Still handle deals with a handshake. Everyone within South State is so nice. Everyone is supportive and helpful. Everyone answers the phone and will help you grow. There benefits are awesome.

Cons

Takes some serious time to move up. Still working kinks out in online programs. Lingering problems from merger become more apparent as you move up. Trying to keep up with technology of big banks but lack.
