Pros

Can make a decent living off of this industry's general pay scale. Does a fair job of keeping there hourly employees informed. Will do anything to keep the hourly employees convinced they don't need union representation. Family owned is usually a more personable company to work for but things change.

Cons

I guess you could categorize me as a disgruntled ex employee, but I know many people that are currently employed with this company that share my same general view as I have continued relationships since my separation. . My many years with this company ended in a horror story. I am not saying that I was Mr. Perfect employee(but I was honest and highly praised for my results during the majority of my tenure) but the way I was handled during the last several months of my employment has taken me years to recover from. I am speaking of only 1 region within this company. I failed or refused to accept the management style changes that were happening right before my very eyes. I couldn't accept that this company had changed from a style of management that highly respected their people to a management style that used intimidation and fear for motivation. The regional management team for this specific region is brutal, cunning and motivates their mid level management and sales personnel with fear and well camouflaged intimidation. The regional management team of 2 managers reflect a win at any cost approach with an unbelievable undertone of actual enjoyment from acts of intimidation, terminations and overall total disregard for collateral damage to the people that report to them. If your performance or results are top notch...you generally will get some high fives and kudos..But don't think for one minute that the feeling of being under someone's thumb will change. If you are struggling with results, your past history of being a high performer will not be part of the analysis from management. They will try to portray to the outside that they want to help you improve your performance, but behind closed doors you will be chastised and threatened. I have actually been involved in direct dialogue with these people and statements from them that clearly indicate their enjoyment of how to intimidate employees. Current employees will not publicly agree with any of my opinion in fear of informants that have been planted by regional management. This company's history once reflected a highly respected approach on how to motivate there people. The regional management team that I am speaking of is well on its way to changing that highly respected reputation. I have read the rules or community guidelines for posting on this site and I feel that I have refrained from any personal attacks or revealed any methods or processes that this company would consider protected.
