      My least favorite workplace on my resume.

      I had a great tight-knit group to work with, and from those relationships I'm still friends with most of them to this day.

      Cons

      HR was just plain bad and if you weren't at their beckon call, or rubbed them the wrong way you were shown the door. Before being bought by an investment group Sovos had a lot of great talent, especially in leadership, but when an investment group bought Sovos and expanded their portfolio it became evident that there wasn't room for all of the cooks in the kitchen and the good ones were let go. With mostly poor leadership left stress and chaos ensued. After having my leadership fired I stepped up to do their daily job and waited 6 months for them to repost the opening (it was considerably cheaper to have me doing the job at my pay scale,) only for them to hire someone from outside of the company instead who I would then need to train to be proficient. Fortunately I could see it coming a mile away and already had my resume out there. Lastly Sovos liked to hire fresh inexperienced graduates for a fraction of industry standards, so there was quite a revolving door for full-time staff. I wouldn't recommend working there to a friend.

I am pleased to know you created meaningful connections during your time here, and those connections live on. Although our last change in ownership was over five years ago, I can see it affected you at that time. I understand that. Change can be stressful and, sometimes, hard to understand. We can always do a better job of (over-)communicating and supporting people during times of significant change. As a software company serving customers at the intersection of digital and regulatory transformation, Sovos operates in a fast-paced and ever-evolving world. In the past five years, we have adapted in ways that have allowed us not only to keep up – but to become a leader in our market. That is good news for our clients, our investors and, most importantly, our employees. Thank you for the time you spent with us. I wish you the best in your career.
