Pros

* You will work on lots of different projects and get tons of experience in the process. * Stock value has gone up a lot. * Lots of growth opportunities open up quickly. * They don't care as much about politics or other whatever is in the news. Instead we're making the news. * Flexible career growth/trajectory. Allows for management to go back down to single contributor and for quick upwards trajectory too. * They take feedback from anyone and everyone.

Cons

* It is mostly work/work balance. You can have a life but the stated expectation is a minimum of 50 work week. Many co-workers will often bleed way over that expectation btw. * There's a soft requirement to be on-site and you'll probably want to be on-site anyways as it's difficult to work remotely here unless you've been here a while. * Compensation is lower than competition. This is slightly offset by growth opportunities.

Pros

Looks great on your resume

Cons

High turnover rate. You'll have a whole new team in a year. "Mandatory" crunch. It's a meat grinder. Unionization=retaliation

Pros

Exciting mission, very smart people, super inspiring. Despite the negatives of working there, I would still recommend everyone try it once.

Cons

The entire company is a reflection of Elon's attitude about life: you are only worth the value of the work you do. Work-life balance is not a thing. Wellness of the employees is not particularly relevant. Of course, individual people working at the company are good, and actually human. I was well qualified for my job and could have done quite well, but ended up laid off after a brief period of employment because a company-wide layoff was happening and my timing/situation was bad (my boss at hiring left before I actually started). This reflects the company's attitude as a whole: individuals are (generally) expendable
