Pros

Great ways to develop your skills and transition into new aspects of your career. The highest workmanship standards are kept, so if you are concerned with details about your work, his is a great place to be; it's expected to be your norm. Great people to work with; surely will make long term friends while here. Very relaxed management when it comes to being in there presence, but still expect nothing less than the best.

Cons

When it's time to go to work, and the hours are there, expect to have very little time to yourself. Be ready to work 6 days a week 12 hour days on end until the job gets done, and these stands can surpass a year to build.

Pros

Always changing atmosphere, incredibly competent and brilliant coworkers, the ability to see your work actually making a difference, less red-tape than most aerospace companies resulting in faster iteration and changes.

Cons

long hours, many "leaders" are just people who have done well, and were promoted to some sort of management position and do not have the training to do it well, which can be frustrating. Lots of corporate politics.

Pros

Challenging work in an exciting arena. When they say launch party at SpaceX they aren't talking yet another version of yet another GUI, they are really talking launch ... of something with almost two million pounds of thrust that comes back and lands on a boat out in the middle of the ocean. It's super-challenging and super-rewarding. Lots of folks complain about insane hours, but I don't see it. You can't mess about, but the hours and pressures aren't any worse than at any other tech company I've worked for. The technical rewards are much greater, though. I'm happy at SpaceX.

Cons

I'm not a big fan of the open seating arrangement and the parking could be improved. Sometimes managers don't really understand exactly what it is we do, but that isn't unique.
