Man oh man. This place chews you up and spits you out. Then they move on to the next person without a care in the world for how they treat their employees.
I've been at this company for two years and I feel like I've aged five. There is absolutely ZERO work-life balance. Mandatory overtime is expected, which we all knew when applying because it states that in the requirements. But what they don't tell you is that it's often not just weekday 10 hour shifts, but quite a few weekend shifts as well. Especially if you're falling behind, which happens at least twice every month.
This job is great for someone that doesn't care about having any hobbies or seeing family outside of work. You'll make good money, and depending on your team you can have unlimited overtime so if you need a financial boost you have that option.
The politics in this company are absolutely insane. I received a "quick feedback" review from someone that didn't care for me and was denied a promotion. The only reason I even know about this is because my previous supervisor informed me upon their resignation. The review? "They say 'that's above my pay grade' too much" which is insane because I absolutely never said that. This person just truly didn't like me.
HR took that as fact without doing any sort of investigation into the matter. So anyone can say anything and even if it happens -one- time you're screwed for the rest of your employment at SpaceX.
We've had countless meetings with HR and management to talk about what they can do to make our lives easier but nothing has ever happened or changed in my two years.
Honestly I cannot recommend this company as a workplace based on my experience. I care deeply about my time off, and having to miss out on family events because I've used up all my precious pto and/or sick time for doctors appointments does not sit well with me.
You only have one life and this place will suck it right out of you.
