Pros

Always changing atmosphere, incredibly competent and brilliant coworkers, the ability to see your work actually making a difference, less red-tape than most aerospace companies resulting in faster iteration and changes.

Cons

long hours, many "leaders" are just people who have done well, and were promoted to some sort of management position and do not have the training to do it well, which can be frustrating. Lots of corporate politics.

Pros

As an electronics design engineer, SpaceX provides ample opportunities to work on a variety of different circuits and systems. The work is exciting, fast paced, and rewarding. Nothing can beat the working on company's current and future missions. For myself, the work-life balance is great. I am able to balance work and family. The SpaceX team is an exceptional group of people to work with, talented, driven, and supportive through the design/development process.

Cons

There is so many pieces that need to come together at the same time that it can get very busy around a deliverable milestone, providing review and support to colleagues while delivering to your own objectives. There is no 401k matching (at the time I give this review) option, which I have been accustomed to having worked at five other engineering companies

Pros

Pride in doing something that will change space flight forever. Good pay in comparison to other compoanies. Great benifits, best ive expereinced since the military. Freedom to implement changes and process improvements.

Cons

Salary employees are often times expected to be here weekends/holidays without complaint of pay or compensation. Recently this has begun to change. Engineering tends to do their own thing. This in turn causes mistakes to happen over and over. There is still a lot of growth/maturity needed to make t hings better and easier on the workforce. Simple programs that nearly all aerospace/aviation companies have in place, Spacex is still figuring out.
