Pros

Competitive pay for the role

Cons

100% in-office with no remote work Silos of Silos, none of which can get out of the way of the other Closeminded, Shortsighted, and dehydrated from fresh ideas at every level of the org. Lack of empathy, character, openness, mission, and fluidity of human-centricity both for employees and customers makes it a deathtrap for anyone trying to push the needle

Pros

-Excellently formatted forward progression(raise percentages changed regularly every year), nationally certified & counts towards college credits. -Take your Van home -Valuable networking opportunities -Relatively fair yearly bonuses in the form of a raise.

Cons

-Poor Communication(Ironic for a telecom company). Dissemination of information happens perhaps 10% of the time. Departmental management is not on the same page, and are prone to make changes to operating procedures w/out notifying adjacent, relevant departments. -Employee appreciation does not feel genuine. Not a large concern for someone w/ their priorities looking to future progression; but for those looking to work a stagnant job, w/ no desire to promote or leave, you must either have extraordinary resilience or accept the misery. -Very little consideration for personal safety; COVID policies were abysmal, you are expected to accomplish the job in a timely manner(regardless of environmental factors/hazards), you WILL drive on frozen/dangerous roads. -Technicians are micro-managed to the "t", but middle and senior management tend to have "cliques", play favorites, have dirty/unauthorized office/vehicle conditions, and generally pick-and-choose w/e rules and regulations they are allowed to ignore for themselves.

Pros

There are no pros to working at Spectrum

Cons

You can be placed on a new team overnight without your consent Working for management that don’t believe in the concept of work More effort spent architecting management than engineering Frequent medical and gender discrimination No work from home policy, although you will be expected to work on abusive call rotations for most teams Adversarial relationships with other teams Hostile and unprofessional HR run by a 3rd party prison / parole company Important decisions are based on politics at every level Employee input is demanded but completely ignored Internal moves can take up to 5 months before you are in the new role No standards, documentation, or communication between teams

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We know that a positive, supportive team can make all the difference for a successful career. The experience you describe is not in keeping with our company values. When some employees do not comply with policies or create a hostile working environment, it hurts us all. We have taken note of your comments and will share them with our leadership.
