Pros

Pay, benefits, freedom and co-workers

Cons

Management has no clue as to what goes on in the field, it's not the new charter it's still the old charter.

Pros

The benefits and compensation are adequate but tend to be better at the surrounding MSO's. The opportunity to learn different aspects of the cable industry are tremendous.

Cons

If you're in management (in particular technical operations) expect long hours and demands on your time off. That is the nature of the industry but the region I worked in seem to take it to a new level. Senior management can be very nepotistic and cronyism is very common. Like most MSO's, Charter is a collection of many cable companies acquired during the 1990's and early 2000's and is still trying to figure out who they are. There have been many changes in Executive management over the years, each with a different management style and view of Charters direction.
