Pros

The job itself was easy. They give you a task list that is super easy to follow. The registers are also very easy to handle and are pretty self explanatory.

Cons

Low pay. No benefits. No discounts. When I was hired on at the store it was understood that I was in college and therefore would not be available a few days of the week, but I would be able and willing to work the rest unless otherwise requested in advance. My scheduled days off never changed. yet my manager seemed to "forget" this frequently and would then schedule me anyways and tell me it was my fault only to later apologize. This happened very frequently. Eventually she became angry with me always have to call in on the days I should have already had off and she started to cut my hours down gradually at her store. She eventually asked me if I would be willing to work at the other stores around the area. I agreed because I needed more hours after she had cut mine down. I was told I would be paid gas for driving out to other stores but after around 3 months of working at other stores I had yet to see a single cent. It was only when I continued to question her that she finally told me that she had not had the time to fill out my gas requests. After I pestered her about doing it for a few more days after that she finally gave in and I sat next to her and worked out the gas mileage for each store and watched her put it in and submit. The most recent store had been 30 miles away from the city entirely! After having different stores ask her to have me transferred to her store, she always turned them down and would always switch me to a different store after being asked.

Pros

I get church off, or any church function. Plus I can work with old friends and it not be a problem.

Cons

Not a permanent job that I know of, even though I'm new. Looking for something permanent. And still get church off. Can't be without money since most of it goes to church

Pros

A few good things about Speedway are weekly pay, easy tasks, and it's a recognizable brand. "Regulars" are always one of my favorite parts of working with the public.

Cons

Compared to my fast-paced restaurant job, I found speedway to be very boring... Guess that's to be expected on third shift. This may be store specific, but management was a hot mess. For a company that has a pretty popular loyalty program, it had some of the most unloyal employees I've ever met. Just during my 3 months there, one assistant manager and 3 employees quit without giving any notice. On top of that, the people that stayed were so lazy. They couldn't even bother to make fresh coffee, wipe counters or change trash.
