Pros

New CEO is clear, consistent and inspiring. Overall the business has taken positive turns under her direction. Most of the leadership is accomplished and caring and they've been investing in making better middle managers. A lot of creative people working together. I learned about new music all the time. I also genuinely had fun projects to work on with people who were respectful of my time and listened to what I had to say. There's a lot of long tenure people who still manage to be excited and have a big impact. Overall it has a positive and supportive vibe. If I didn't have a better opportunity come up I would have happily stayed. I do miss the feeling of working in a creative field and at Splice it would be hard to forget that because half the company is artists.

Cons

There are a handful of people who are either burnt out or coasting so hard that it can be tough to get much done. There's one political C level exec that has failed up for years. He's been in charge of almost every single team at one point and despite being incredibly mediocre and uninspiring he's now in charge the fun, creative team and still manages to make it sound boring. There can be a lot of feet dragging across teams. People are tired and generally overworked but I don't think that's an issue everywhere.

They have an awesome product and a passionate team. Really the people make that place.

Cons

Leadership is maybe too influenced by investors and could be prioritizing better long term decisions for the platform other than the core income streams.

Pros

I've never worked on something I'm so passionate about, and you can feel that across the team. This company is changing the lives of musicians and can become very culturally relevant. It manages to be a high growth startup with lots of potential and a music company that cares about the art form. I'm proud to work here and see a bright future ahead.

Cons

All the standard growing pains of a fast growing startup. New execs coming in with more experience that can help us be more mature. The company grew up a lot over the last year, some people had to go which was hard and left people upset. Don't get discouraged by the negative reviews on here, if you're super talented, love music and want to work in a respective and inclusive environment, I'd love to work with you.
