Pros

Great core product, amazing upside (if they get it right) a tiny bit of the true Splunk culture from the founders is still hanging on.

Cons

Becoming "that company" at an alarming rate. Lack of transparency and cooperation between teams, finger pointing inability to execute / monitize beyond core product. Poor apps strategy, Splunk Storm utter fail, Hunk stalled out to name a few. Scattershot approach to new target markets. Teams are managing up and hunkering down vs innovating. Stock compensation is all they can offer to attract and retain ppl and even the street is noticing all the dilution. Culture of fear where there is a fail fast, but succeed or else mentality.

Pros

Splunk used to be a great place to work. You can get lucky and get assigned to a team and accounts that will get you a seven figure W2. Or not. Splunk tries to throw extra benefits at employees to stop attrition (but people are leaving in droves). If you don't want to work, it's fine, just take indefinite medical leave, or just don't show up (they don't know how to fire or performance manage people). Middle management does a great job of making their numbers look good. Even if they don't have any impact on the business or the other teams you are supposed to support.

Cons

Extremely Toxic workplace. Leadership embodies the Peter Principle. A Players have been forced out, replaced by B, then C and now D players. Attrition exceeding 100%. Management is a revolving door, if you even get to have a manager. You will never get a performance review, raise, or any consideration unless you hit 200% of your target or above. There are entire teams who deliver no results, but their 'numbers' look great so they keep getting promoted.

Pros

They pay well. When things were working, this was a great place to work. Awesome product.

Cons

This place is going down hill unfortunately. Lots and lots of politics and a real lack of leadership has led a few departments down the drain. This has led to a lot of talent, and management, leaving. It is unfortunate because there is great potential here and at one point, not long ago, this was the best place to work.
