Pros

- Everyone who works here is passionate about reducing food waste - Remote first (there is a Boston office, but most people work fully remote) - Great collaboration on the Engineering team and across diciplines - Leadership cares about the company & team members - Engineers are all very knowledgable and invested in sharing their knowledge with others - Opportunity to make large and impactful changes - The company emphasizes learning and growth and makes space for it - Great work-life balance. Employees are encouraged to respect their working hours and take time off when they need. The company provides a good # of sick days, PTO, and Holidays + "Summer Fridays" aka half days on Friday during the summer. - Support from managers for growth. Internal promotions are a frequent occurrence. - Lots of transparency from leadership on business decisions - Low turnover - Company organized volunteering events for employees in the Boston area, usually themed around food & in line with the company's mission - Good place to work as a member of the LGBT+ community

Cons

- As a smaller company that is largely mission-driven, the pay and benefits don't stack up with other tech companies

Great startup to work at

Business Outlook

Pros

Personal access to people at every level of the company. Extremely upward trending business outlook. Diverse workplace with strong emphasis on brining in more diversity (race, gender, age, etc ...). Room to grow in your current role, with regular promotions. Fully Remote. Flexible schedule. Growth and learning subsidy. Generous maternity / paternity leave policy. Modern codebase with focus on not carrying forward tech debt. Emphasis on growing your skills and getting you enjoyable projects.

Cons

No matching 401k. Health/ dental / vision options good for a startup, but lacking, not at industry standard. Occasionally you'll have to work off hours (they try to make this rare, and when it's happened to me I've been rewarded pretty well). The interview process is honestly not the easiest. It attempts to remove individual bias but can come across as a bit cold (sorry!)
