Pros

Great people that have no idea they’re giving money to a terrible company.

Cons

They mess with your hours, if you get too close to 40, they adjust your time. They treat you like a child if you do anything off policy they threaten to fire you without even discussing why you did what you did. Also expected to take people 10 minutes after close.... why even have a closing time?!?!

Pros

-Hourly Pay Guaranteed -Great Classes for Beginners -Easy access to talk to owner and higher management when you have issues -Very Flexible to your schedule -If you work long hours, they will usually give you a good length break, not just a quick 15. -If you just began cutting and are fresh out of school, they are patient with you and will work with you to get better USUALLY.

Cons

-They make commission impossible to hit, and they change it back and forth. Used to be “hit these numbers and you’ll get extra.” Then they literally told us they are paying us too much so they made the commission all or nothing. You have to hit retail, shampoo %, and service dollar per hour to get ANYTHING, which could result in only 25¢ extra an hour. -Even when you do hit commission, you don’t get a normal % like most salons, you get extra cents or dollars per hour for just that paycheck IF you hit the minimum numbers they give you -they give you a key and call you “key holder” which basically means you get to act as a manager without the pay -to become a manager/AM they only care about sales. Doesn’t matter how many cuts you do or how good you are, they mainly care about shampoo numbers and retail sales. Which causes bad stylists who are good sales people to become manager. -they hire people that are not good at cutting and give them way too many chances before getting rid of them. One girl messed up 15 cuts in a week and my team had to “watch after her” with no sort of discipline at all.

Pros

Clients, flexible schedule, decent pay, fast paced, co-workers

Cons

it's a sales job, the focus is on your ability to sell products and services, and to do as many haircuts as fast as you can. The continual badgering about numbers has ruined the good parts of the job. They want you to come to work even when you are sick as a dog. You get your co-workers sick and your clients. If you have to miss for any reason you don't get any commissions for that pay period.

It might be helpful to clear up any misunderstandings or at least be heard. You did not provide a location, so I am unable to share your feedback directly. Feel free to connect offline at contact.us@sportclips.com. As a company (Franchisor/Corporation) we do provide guidelines to ensure consistency and set each team member up for success. I think the message can get diluted as it is communicated, and resulting in a team member feeling undervalued, like just a number, etc. Sport Clips standards goals and values can be seen throughout the company in our support center, in our stores and in our communities. It saddens me to see that this is not your experience.
