Worst Job I ever had

Pros

Good pay Some customers are nice

Cons

You will work all day without a break. It’s all about numbers and hitting goals. No sick days. They will let you go for calling in sick even WITH a doctors note. FORGET about calling off if your children are sick. They will make you travel to different stores with no extra pay, they will tell you if you refuse to go they will cut your hours. Management is full of favoritism so ALOT of coworkers will get away with things that you would get fired over. There’s no benefits and the healthcare is expensive. If they don’t like you , they will bully you out or will complain to management to have you fired without warning. Even when you’re not working you HAVE to stay in the company group texts and will make you come in if they are busy and short staffed. I felt like I was constantly “on call” There’s so much more I could say about this company but it’s not a stable one to work for.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. We definitely do not want team members working sick. Each store has a different store owner (franchisee) and a different set of team members, so experiences vary. I can tell you that Sport Clips cares about their team members. Again, I am so sorry that you do not feel that way. Being short staffed makes any role more difficult and stressful. Thank you for your hard work while there. We continue to focus on staffing our stores with the right team members, so everyone involved has a better work life balance. Thank you for your feedback. I wish you the best!

Great to get started

Pros

I loved the education classes they offered with the company. Great training for new stylists. Flexible scheduling.

Cons

Very cliquish. Over promise and under deliver. They do not have regular paid vacation or PTO hours. It’s called discretionary pay where they pay you your hourly for 5 days and can deny the pay if they want to. Do not value their stylists that put in the work. Would rather watch you leave. Does not stay true to their word. Raises only when minimum wage rises. The bonus structure is not very obtainable. The owners nor management handle staff conflict very well the stylists that have been there the longest will only get a “slap on the wrist” if they do something wrong. Management doesn’t listen to issues and sweeps them under the rug.

Your feedback and time at Sport Clips are appreciated. Each store is owned and operated by a unique store owner. I am sorry that you did not have a positive experience at your location. Trusting your team is important. I think there may have been a disconnect in communication. I will share this with the appropriate party and wish you the best!
