Positive culture, organizationally a mess

Pros

- People come together having a shared love of music - Lots of cool technical challenges and ways to evolve the platform - Company all hands and communications on the bets help show what all teams are working toward

Cons

- Top down approach to management - Really hard to get promoted or even to switch teams - Several re-orgs in short time span - Lack of a unified vision/ and when a vision is presented, it's unclear if those teams are actually being sufficiently supported - Salary is lower than the industry standard and some younger employees are definitely underpaid

Low compensation (stock option grants are difficult to get) Can't promote past Senior, easier to interview into a Staff position Lack of experience from leadership, they seem to be headless chicken trying to find anything that'll make the company profitable Culture has tanked since the layoffs

great benefits, good salary, interesting problems to solve, remote work possibility

Cons

It used to be a great company to work for but become a bit too corporate and lots of internal politics. They don't really live the values they advertise for anymore. Hopefully it will go back to the nice company it used to be when I joined!
