Spotify encourages a culture of learning and growth. It has developed a fast-paced culture, despite being a large company, which you're actively building new systems and growing your expertise. It's org structure is designed such that you won't ever feel like your team is not a part of the company's missions.

Cons

While changing recently, the engineering community has a tendency to build first without first discovering if the needed infrastructure already exists.

- good work life balance - decent salary (will be lowered if you leave expensive places like london or ny) - benefits are good - nice tools like backstage

Cons

- after the layoffs it's very hard to move between teams if not impossible. Also promotions are goodbye. - proprietary tech stack, that is way behind common open source tools. Internally thing it's superior because they are famous. - middle management is cheap and does not know what they are doing. you have great engineers with product managers with 2 years of experience after a Udemy course. - big bad decisions from C level lately that made stock dip, lay off people and other terrible things. - some people take advantage of easygoing culture and literally do nothing
