Pros

Great product and decent delivery

Cons

Shackled mid-mangement who are routinely prevented from genuine staff development of their reports. Subtle age discrimination as most people in the company are under 45.

Pros

I joined Springboard almost a year ago and it's the best job I've ever had. Managers get extensive training on how to approach professional development and I've never felt so supported or motivated to grow. The people I work with are intellectually curious, thoughtful, and kind. I always forget I've never even been to the office due to COVID because of how lively and inclusive the culture is even over Zoom and Slack Work life balance is wonderful and we even close one Friday a month for a wellness day and encourage everyone to unplug and step away. I have really appreciated this!

Cons

My biggest challenge comes when the company wants the US and Bangalore teams to act as one. In reality, we have very different functions, communication styles, and work on polar opposite hours. At some point, leadership will need to accept that these two offices should work autonomously and independently from one another. It's too hard to collaborate when someone in the group was majorly inconvenienced by doing a 7am or 9pm meeting.

Pros

+ Challenging, interesting and dynamic work + Founders and colleagues that really care about the impact we're having—it's incredibly fulfilling to see that your effort translates to real outcomes for students (and mentors) + A team that is smart, hard-working, and intellectually curious = a great environment to learn and challenge yourself + People bring their authentic selves to work here. We are a super diverse group of ethnic backgrounds, social styles, interests. + International travel! We have a team offsite that brings together the Bangalore and SF office every year. I've been to 7 different countries with many people on the team which has been great.

Cons

We've grown rapidly this year and communication/information flows haven't always been perfect. This is my first time at a startup this size so I'm not sure how normal this is, but it can be a challenge.
