Pros

Best team I’ve ever worked with. Fantastic culture. Great work events. Meaningful mission with the potential to change people’s lives. Competitive wages. Also most diverse company I ever worked for - I was very often the only white man on a team.

Cons

Due to the nature of Springboards product, it became unsustainable in this job market. I’m unsure how they pivoted but they laid off 70% of the staff. I hear things are a bit better now. Since we did not really write courses, but instead collected course materials created by others, the actual day to day work could be really tedious. Doubly so because the system for managing courses was completely unfriendly, unnecessarily complicated, and horrible to write in. Often professional goals were pivoted rapidly, leaving many people unsure of our direction. My team created the core learning product but had very little influence on how it was delivered, or what we were making, so sometimes promises were made to outside clients that were very difficult for us to deliver on.
