Pros

As an early-career professor, the mentorship I was given at SEU is second to none and continues even after I left their employ. I always felt that I had the resources and support to do my job well. My colleagues were upstanding and kind individuals across the board, and the students were generally respectful and hard-working. I would have worked at SEU longer if not for my faculty position being a one-year term.

Cons

As with many universities of its size, I witnessed some struggles with funding and with administration vs. faculty, mostly outside my department. My salary was also on the low end.

Beautiful campus, great faculty, mostly Mon-Fri work expectations

Cons

Terrible pay for staff members - especially in living in the city of Austin - more training for staff level management on how to be better leaders that care for their team. Very click-y for those who are in the system, and if no “education degree” or background in higher ed, you will most likely not be viewed as a peer.
