Pros

I worked in several different departments on campus and found that each had its own unique set of characteristics which was a great opportunity. People were generally friendly and willing to help when asked.

Cons

Not everyone was that nice and sometimes they fell back on rules instead of being proactive about a situation.

Pros

It was a place where they really cared about their students. It was great community and I made friends with most of the staff members. Good benefits.

Cons

Because students come first needs of the staff was usually secondary. This created burn out and high turnover in my department.

Great university, terrible

Pros

Very student-oriented, and if you can get into a good office with a sensible, compassionate leader you can be very happy.

Cons

The university has undergone so much change in the past years, and often senior level administrators are hired and kept despite their ability to run off truly good people. Low- and mid-level employees truly do not have a voice and the environment for most at the university has become quite toxic.
