Pros

Mostly wonderful leadership exists in most areas of the university. The campus is beautiful and the IT Dept strives to make technical experiences excellent. The academics are as good as any. Working relationships are based on respect and ethics.

Cons

Transparency of leadership from Trustees through Management is poor and overall direction of the university is unclear. Not enough emphasis is placed on moving forward with online learning and greater job-related skills training. Poor value for the money for the students.

Pros

Great undergraduate opportunity to acquire work experience. Was able to hone in on the more practical side of a biology lab. Mentoring other students provides an appreciation for professors and the value of communication.

Cons

Often hard to manage time with the balance of school work and maintaining a lab

Pros

Higher pay for some positions than other colleges in the area Small campus makes it easier to network, collaborate, and get varied experience Higher ups are accessible Changes happens often Culture where collaboration is valued Good benefits Parking isn't as bad as other campuses

Cons

Regular campus-wide pay raises leads to complacency Change and campus initiatives happens quickly and without being completely thought through Solutions to problems are usually temporary quick fixes because plans were not fully thought through Poor interdepartmental communication Much institutional knowledge is not written down anywhere; you have to know who to contact Lack of organized and standardized administrative processes Hard to move up or around because the school is so small, and people usually stay in their positions for quite sometime before leaving
