Pros

Smaller long term care facility. The work load is manageable. Pay is competitive compared to other facilities in the area.

Cons

Managers are very strict with time off. They tend to fire employees instead of working with them. Human Resources is not helpful and will side with the administrators over the employees. The benefits are horrible. No internal growth. You stay on the position you are hired for despite managers saying they will grow you.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. It is very important to our continuous improvement efforts. While some of your experiences at St .John's did not meet your wishes, we are pleased that you report on some of the positive aspects of working here. You may be happy to learn that we are making a significant investment in education for our managers including small homes training, leadership skills, and interview/selection skills. In addition, I can report that numerous positions are filled by internal transfers and promotions every month. And we do our best to accommodate all time off requests, providing a generous PTO benefit, while balancing the needs of our residents as our first priority.

Pros

Employees are very competent and have a passion for innovating and improving the senior life experience. I have found people to be quite welcoming and friendly. Nice location at Highland Park. Strong leadership.

Cons

Rochester NY isn't quite a tropical location. You have to either like or at least accept life in the snow belt.

Pros

Some senior staff can be friendly and helpful.

Cons

Mostly everyone complains all day, whether it's the nurses, aides, dining staff, maintenance workers, even the residents constantly complain. Everyone has bad attitudes, and no one wants to be there. It's a very unwelcoming environment with incompetent managenent in most departments.
