Extremely poor communication (in my particular business unit) Poor managers Most people who work here are lifetime non-profit people with no experience in the corporate world Insanely hierarchical, worse than any corporation I've worked for I realize this is an academic environment and it favors professors. That being said, if the university were run as a for-profit corporation, it would be out of business in a couple of years. In development, they set totally unrealistic goals - and there are zero consequences for not reaching them.

sometimes need to go through various people to get things accomplished, like getting paycheck, etc. If you buy the cheap parking pass, you have to walk FAR to work.
