Pros

It is a very intellectually stimulating place, with smart, motivated people. It has many resources and provides many career paths after graduation.

Cons

The research and work assignments are very challenging. Sometimes, it is very frustrating to be surrounded by so many more people who are smarter than you.

Pros

There's lots of good opportunities for research, and it's a fun & nice place to be. Professors are all very distinguished in their own fields, and a couple are not afraid of trying new things out.

Cons

Ph.D. takes a few years, though you get to learn many new things. In the Ph.D. you're often asked to define your own path, which can be scary to some people.
