Good people; Lacking development

Pros

Good group of people to work with who are willing to help any time you need it. All you have to do is ask. So far, work/life balance has been good. Working environment seems to be conducive to life outside of work (may be location dependent).

Cons

Lack of formal training program for new hires. Member development is by trial-and-error for the most part. When work is scarce, so are learning opportunities.

Management emphasis on members. They do things with the members best interest in mind. There is interest in improving the company performance.

Cons

Understaffed in most Shared Services departments. Puts a lot of stress on Corporate Services members to serve the Operations side of the business.
